Week Nine
I was hoping that Charl would not have to stop before Samoa. Of course, what he was not telling us was that he had lost most of his water! Now I understand why he was so insistent about stopping.
What a beautiful part of the world. Imagine being able to smell the palm trees! Imagine dropping anchor in a little cove with white sandy beaches. Smell the roses - that does sound like a wonderful idea. Not many places in the world where people will risk a great deal to help you and then be so honest as well! If you are reading the webpage - thank you.
Gideon celebrated a birthday this week - first one that Dad has missed, but then it was OK because Gideon was not at home either! He was in Austin with the one-act play! We will celebrate tonight.
Sharleen came home for the weekend and will return to write her last 2 finals and then she will be home for the Summer! I can't believe she has been away from home for a year now - so grown up too!
I never thought that I would be able to become so attached to a computer. I noticed this week that as soon as I get home in the evening, the animals are fed and then I head straight for the computer! I guess it is like coming home and chatting to Charl in the house! Modern technology is really amazing. Who would have thought that I could chat back and forth with Charl while on Island Time in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. No delays in the e-mails getting through. This is really mind boggling! It has been a life saver for me.
I have had many of our readers suggest that we need to get a T-shirt designed for Silent Voyager and have it available for sale on the web. So, after much discussion and thought, we have one in the works! It should be finalized soon. Also, there will be a newly designed webpage revealed soon. Friends Tom, Kelley and of course Sharon and Dave, have been tremendous with advice and suggestions and graphic design and programming. Thank you all so very much.
So - keep a look out for the new look as well as the T-shirt and of course the much awaited pictures!
My prayer for this week: Dear Lord, we thank You for Your great love. We thank You for kind and honest strangers in a land far away. We thank You for dear friends closer to home. We pray that once again, You will send Your Angels to keep watch from IT's bow and keep Your Hand on Charl's at the wheel. Let him feel Your Presence and Your Love.
Thank you for the wonderful e-mails - please keep them coming and remember to visit the site each day for updates.
Our love to all of Silent Voyager's followers, our new friends.
God Bless
Bev, Sharleen and Gideon.
