I never realized how much spare time I had when Charl was away! I thought I was always busy, but now I know I was not.
I am no longer spoiled by Mom cooking every night so of course when I get home from work at 6:00, the meal preparation starts! After that Charl and I usually sit in front of the computer searching and planning and trying to get all his ideas launched. It is like running a business after hours! But, although it is not providing an income as yet, it will pick up as soon as everything is ongoing. So far there has been interest in him for some advertising as well as shake-down sailing a new line of Tartans and doing a testimonial of comparison afterwards. He has also had an offer from someone regarding starting a business. Please keep these in your prayers as this is exactly where we wanted to be going! So many decisions to make, but I want to be sure that what we do is in the direction that we are being led and not the direction we choose for ourselves.
We have made progress with the DVD and so hopefully we can have our reception dinner soon. Keep watching and I will let you know.
Charl has registered with the Texas Workforce Commission to once again look for work so that we can keep our heads above water. Please say a prayer that something will come up soon.
We have a new addition to the family - Satchmo, a labrador cross puppy. He is Charl's dog and already spoiled rotten. He goes everywhere with Charl and even sits on the float in the marina, while Charl works on the outside of the boat! I have to share this with you - the dog does not like to walk on the gangways between the boats because his little feet slip through the opening between the planks. So, he now gets out of the truck, runs straight to the little cart at the boat gate, and Charl puts him inside and pulls him in the cart! That's what I mean by spoiled! But he is cute, I have to admit. Potty training is a headache. It's been a long time since I had a puppy in the house!
Lots of work has been done on Island Time preparing her for sale. I can't even think about it as it makes me want to cry. She is such a brave little boat and of course I am too sentimental about her because she is part of what kept Charl safe all those months at sea.
Channel 25 TV, in Victoria, is doing a follow up story on Charl and they met with him again during the week and spent the day at our house and on the boat. It will show some time in February and I will let you all know about the date and time as well.
Charl has been home for just over a month now and I must admit this has been quite an adjustment for me! As much as I missed him and worried about him when he was away, I had a hard time sharing the house with another person again! I thought it would all just be the same as it was before he left, but it took a while for me to adjust to the new routine. Charl misses the sea. But, he is not as restless as he was before he left. I see a wonderful peace in Charl now and I know in my heart that this has been good for him and I thank God for His many Blessings.
We still have a few T-shirt orders that were not correctly filled - we are working on those and once again I apologize for the delays. We will have this matter corrected as soon as possible.
I know that Charl has been quiet in terms of the website, but his mind is working overtime! He is rerunning all his videos to earmark scenes for the final DVD and that takes a lot of time as there are hours and hours of video footage to research! So, until he gets this stage behind him, I will keep you up to date with the latest.
Please keep Gideon and Sharleen in your prayers too. Gideon is applying at colleges and for scholarships and Sharleen has taken on 18 hours as well as a job. They both did well last semester and we are so very proud of them. Gideon is to be congratulated for landing the lead part in the play at school - well done!
"Dear Lord, for many opportunities for the future, we say thank you. Please allow us to listen to You to know which of these You want us to choose. Thank you for Your many blessings this past week. What would we do without You?"
Have a great week, a really tremendous week!
Smile at a stranger and sing in the shower.
When last did you watch the sun rise and see the Lord in all His glory?
God Bless
Charl, Bev, Sharleen, Gideon and Mom
