What a week we have had!
Charl completed the patio and hopefully there will be more orders to come! He has advertisements posted for the patios as well as assistance with offshore sailing and navigation etc and boat maintenance and repair. So, if you need any of these services, contact us on the web.
Charl went to the Boat Show in Houston yesterday in order to gather information about getting a Captain's or Skipper's Certification. With his hours of sailing and Ocean crossing and storm experience, he probably qualifies for a Master's! What a hoot that would be.
He received a visit from Pat O'Neal from Tartan boats in Houston as well as Lee Rosenstein from Clear Lake. Lee is fitting his Tartan 37' in preparation for his solo circumnavigation and he wanted to get advice from Charl. Charl was thrilled by their visit and for the opportunity to share his experience with another Tartan owner!
And so, that brings me to the sad news - we will have to sell Island Time. She is an important asset, but also the one most easily liquidated. We would love to be able to keep her, as we could put her to good use as a teaching vessel as well as short distance charter, but funds are low and we need to do what we have to!
If you have any ideas as to how we can save her - let me know!!!!!
We are busy preparing her for sale and she will go onto the market next week.
Charl will be the Guest of Honor at the Annual Palacios Chamber of Commerce Banquet in February! What an occasion that will be.
The plans for our formal reception are still in the pipeline and we may have to move the date into February as we wait for the development of the DVD's. We want to have something exciting to show you all at the dinner!
Once again, if you have not received your T-shirt, please let me know. There still seem to be some orders outstanding and we would like to get those out as soon as possible.
It was my Dad's birthday on Tuesday and so it was a day of rememberance and the shedding of some tears, but it becomes easier as time passes.
Life goes on. We knew it would take time for Charl to get himself up and running again so we are hanging in there with lots of Faith and not too much patience! Please keep in touch. Send those e-mails and sign the guestbook.
"Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for many Blessings. We pray for those less fortunate than ourselves. Give us the ability to sit and listen after asking. Help us to be able to hear what it is You want us to do. Please continue to guide Charl as he makes many new decisions for our family."
God Bless all and please keep in touch.
Bev
